Picture windows are large, fixed (non-operable) windows designed to maximize natural light and provide unobstructed views. Without the mechanical components required for opening and closing, picture windows can be built in larger sizes than operable windows and feature the thinnest possible frame profiles for maximum glass area. The fixed design also makes picture windows the most energy-efficient window type available — there are no moving parts to create air gaps, and the permanently sealed construction eliminates any possibility of air infiltration through the window itself. At Revival Windows, we install picture windows as standalone focal points, as part of mulled combinations with operable windows on either side, and as transoms above doors and other windows.

Our picture windows feature a direct-set glass installation that maximizes the glass-to-frame ratio. Available in sizes up to approximately 6' x 8' depending on glass package and structural requirements. All standard glass packages are available including dual-pane, triple-pane, laminated, and specialty configurations.
For very large units, we use tempered or heat-strengthened glass as required by building codes. Picture windows can be mulled with operable windows (casement, double-hung, or awning) to create combination assemblies that provide both views and ventilation.
